Castrol CDX 30 is a premium alkaline system lubricant suitable for use in the crankcase of low speed marine crosshead engines.

Castrol Cyltech 40SX is a Marine diesel engine cylinder lubricant developed with a bespoke detergency system for operation at the higher temperatures and pressures in modern engines, which operate on fuels with Sulphur content of 0.0 – 1.5 %, and LNG.

Cyltech 70F is a high performance cylinder oil of SAE 50 viscosity engineered for cylinder lubrication of marine crosshead 2-stroke engines burning residual fuels. It has sufficient alkalinity to combat current levels of fuel sulphur content. In addition to its balanced blend of acid-neutralising and detergent additives, it incorporates an ashless dispersant which assists in maintaining cleanliness of cylinder ports, piston ring zones and under piston spaces. Formulated against oil breakdown at high temperatures, Cyltech 70F is suitable for a wide range of conditions and engine designs.

Castrol MHP Range is a high performance lubricant formulated using high quality base oils and additives. Available in both SAE 30 and 40 viscosity grades it is specifically developed for use in modern highly rated marine and power generation four-stroke engines. MHP’s high load carrying capabilities and excellent gear performance means it can be used as a common oil for engine and transmission systems. MHP exceeds the specifications of API CF and is approved by major marine engine makers worldwide.

Castrol TLX range offers maximum operation between service intervals and excels in demanding applications. It provides excellent engine cleanliness and exceeds OEM limits for deposits.

Castrol HLX is a Super High-Performance Diesel (SHPD) lubricant, specially formulated to meet the latest performance requirements of marine monograde lubricant specifications. This allows extended drain periods to effectively compete with performance normally associated with synthetic oils. HLX is available in both SAE 30 and 40 viscosity grades. HLX uses premium additive technology blended in high quality, high viscosity index base oils. It provides high detergency and excellent thermal and oxidative stability required to lubricate today’s most severe diesel engine applications.

The Castrol Aircol™ CM compressor oil range of high-quality lubricants are based upon highly refined mineral oil, enhanced with additive technology providing excellent thermal and oxidative stability and good load carrying capacity, compared to other products in the same class. Aircol CM grades are formulated without zinc additives (ashless oils), recommended for the lubrication of rotary screw and reciprocating compressors.

Castrol Aircol™ LPT is a refrigeration compressor lubricant formulated from highly refined naphthenic base oils for use in both large and industrial and small refrigeration units. Aircol LPT is formulated to function as a lubricant and coolant, as well as a sealant in refrigerating compressors. It maintains good lubrication properties at the high temperatures reached during the compression phase and good fluidity at the low temperatures within the evaporators. Excellent lubrication of the moving parts in the compressor.

Aircol SN were developed to cope with the severe operating conditions experienced in reciprocating air compressors operating at high compression ratios and high discharge temperatures of up to 220°C. Under these conditions, Aircol offer a much reduced carbon forming tendency and extended oil life when compared to mineral oil. Whilst Aircol SN was primarily intended for the use in reciprocating air compressors, it may also be used in certain types of turbochargers, where it will provide significant in-service benefits when compared with mineral based lubricants.

Castrol Aircol™ SR compressor oil range of premium lubricants are designed for use in rotary screw compressors and are based on polyalphaolefin (PAO) fluids. Aircol SR is suitable for use in oil flooded rotary screw compressors operating under extreme climatic conditions, harsh environments and severe operating conditions where very high air discharge temperatures (> 100°C) are experienced. These oils are also suitable for use in compressor units operating at normal operating conditions, with the maximum air discharge temperature =/< 100°C.

Castrol Aircol™ SW range of synthetic refrigeration lubricants are formulated from polyolester base stocks. The range are specifically designed for use with refrigeration systems using environmentally friendly HFC refrigerants, in particular R134a.The synthetic base stocks used in the Aircol SW range are fully miscible with HFCs, in particular R134a, even at temperatures well below the minimum likely to be encountered in service. The Aircol SW grades have been formulated to enhance hydrolytic stability, load carrying and inhibition against copper plating. They are wax free and hence have very low pour points. This ensures the evaporator remains clean (consequent efficient heat transfer) and reduces the risk of pipe blockages.

The Castrol Alpha™ SP gear oil range of high-quality lubricants are based upon highly refined mineral oil, enhanced with an extreme pressure additive technology providing good thermal stability and high load carrying capacity. The extreme pressure additive system not only provides high load carrying capacity but was designed to provide microscopic wear protection. Microscopic wear protection, also known as micropitting protection, is critical in preventing destructive wear at the micro level therefore extending gear life and meeting the evolving demands of smaller and higher output gear boxes.

The Castrol Alphasyn™ EP gear oil range of high-quality synthetic lubricants are based on poly-alphaolefin (PAO) fluids and sulphur/phosphorus Extreme Pressure (EP) additive technology providing good thermal stability and high load carrying capacity. The Alphasyn EP range have been formulated for use in all types of enclosed gears including heavy and shock-loaded gears and bearings where EP properties are required.

The Castrol Alphasyn™ PG gear oil range of synthetic lubricants are based on polyalkyleneglycol (PAG) fluids enhanced with antioxidants, rust inhibitors and Extreme Pressure (EP) additives of high thermal stability. Alphasyn™ PG gear oils are primarily intended for use in worm reduction gear boxes, where the low coefficient of friction of the PAG base fluid improves efficiency and consequently reduces power consumption and operating temperatures. This is particularly important in applications where sliding contact is high. The use of a PAG base stock provides inherently high Viscosity Index (VI) and low pour points making these products suitable for use over a wide temperature range. Alphasyn PG meets the requirements of most OEM’s that allow the use of PAG based gear oils

Alphasyn HG synthetic fluids are polyalphaolefin based, high performance lubricants formulated with specially selected additives to offer a range of fluids for use in both gear and bearing applications. The range has been designed to offer specific performance benefits over its conventional mineral oil and synthetic fluid counterparts. Application Particularly suitable for applications at high operating temperatures and loadings, Alphasyn HG provides superior performance benefits including excellent thermal and oxidation stability and enhanced load carrying ability.

Hyspin AWS has been specially formulated to provide good anti-wear and thermal stability performance using proven additive technology.

Hyspin™ AWH-M contains a shear stable additive system which helps maintain the viscosity characteristics of the product over a wide temperature range, even during prolonged use. It exhibits very good corrosion and wear protection as well as good thermal and oxidative stability. In addition, Hyspin™ AWH-M is stable in the presence of water and separates water contamination rapidly upon standing.

Castrol Spheerol EP2 is recommended as a general-purpose grease in all heavily loaded or shock-loaded plain and anti-friction bearings or where an extreme pressure additive is required on agricultural or marine equipment.

LMX grease can be used in grease-lubricated plain or rolling bearings, all types of general machinery. It has an operating temperature range from –30°C to 150°C and may also be used for short periods at temperatures of up to 180°C in bearings designed to operate under such conditions.

Castrol Spheerol™ SX 2 is a complex calcium sulphonate grease providing superior performance benefits in the highly aggressive conditions experienced in the marine environment. Spheerol SX 2 is suitable for most journal bearings, wire ropes and open gears used in marine deck equipment and can be considered for roller, ball and needle bearings generally used in engine room equipment. In addition to the excellent protection provided for wire ropes and open gears, Spheerol SX 2 is also suitable for use on a wide range of deck equipment where it will protect and lubricate hinges, turnbuckles, screws, fair leads etc.

Castrol Bio Range oil for stern tubes that meets the requirements of Environmentally Acceptable Lubricants (EALs), based on selected synthetic esters and an optimised performance additive system. Developed primarily for use in stern tubes, Controllable Pitch Propeller (CPP) systems and stabilizers.

Castrol BioTac MP2 is an EU Ecolabel registered Environmentally Acceptable Lubricant, multipurpose EP grease based on Lithium Calcium thickener technology, saturated ester and an optimised performance additive system. Castrol BioTac MP2 has been developed primarily for use on exposed marine deck applications and combines excellent physical properties that enable resistance to both mechanical shear and water spray-off with an additive system developed to protect exposed components from corrosion, oxidation and the effects of load, friction and wear. Castrol BioTac MP2 is intended for use in a wide range of applications including medium to low speed bearings (plain and roller), open gears and wire ropes typically found on deck machinery.
