The Castrol Aircol™ CM compressor oil range of high-quality lubricants are based upon highly refined mineral oil, enhanced with additive technology providing excellent thermal and oxidative stability and good load carrying capacity, compared to other products in the same class. Aircol CM grades are formulated without zinc additives (ashless oils), recommended for the lubrication of rotary screw and reciprocating compressors.

Aircol LPT Range

Castrol Aircol™ LPT is a refrigeration compressor lubricant formulated from highly refined naphthenic base oils for use in both large and industrial and small refrigeration units. Aircol LPT is formulated to function as a lubricant and coolant, as well as a sealant in refrigerating compressors. It maintains good lubrication properties at the high temperatures reached during the compression phase and good fluidity at the low temperatures within the evaporators. Excellent lubrication of the moving parts in the compressor.

Aircol SN Range

Aircol SN were developed to cope with the severe operating conditions experienced in reciprocating air compressors operating at high compression ratios and high discharge temperatures of up to 220°C. Under these conditions, Aircol offer a much reduced carbon forming tendency and extended oil life when compared to mineral oil. Whilst Aircol SN was primarily intended for the use in reciprocating air compressors, it may also be used in certain types of turbochargers, where it will provide significant in-service benefits when compared with mineral based lubricants.

Castrol Aircol™ SR compressor oil range of premium lubricants are designed for use in rotary screw compressors and are based on polyalphaolefin (PAO) fluids. Aircol SR is suitable for use in oil flooded rotary screw compressors operating under extreme climatic conditions, harsh environments and severe operating conditions where very high air discharge temperatures (> 100°C) are experienced. These oils are also suitable for use in compressor units operating at normal operating conditions, with the maximum air discharge temperature =/< 100°C.

Aircol SW Range

REFRIGERATION

Castrol Aircol™ SW range of synthetic refrigeration lubricants are formulated from polyolester base stocks. The range are specifically designed for use with refrigeration systems using environmentally friendly HFC refrigerants, in particular R134a.The synthetic base stocks used in the Aircol SW range are fully miscible with HFCs, in particular R134a, even at temperatures well below the minimum likely to be encountered in service. The Aircol SW grades have been formulated to enhance hydrolytic stability, load carrying and inhibition against copper plating. They are wax free and hence have very low pour points. This ensures the evaporator remains clean (consequent efficient heat transfer) and reduces the risk of pipe blockages.

The Castrol Alpha™ SP gear oil range of high-quality lubricants are based upon highly refined mineral oil, enhanced with an extreme pressure additive technology providing good thermal stability and high load carrying capacity. The extreme pressure additive system not only provides high load carrying capacity but was designed to provide microscopic wear protection. Microscopic wear protection, also known as micropitting protection, is critical in preventing destructive wear at the micro level therefore extending gear life and meeting the evolving demands of smaller and higher output gear boxes.

The Alphasyn EP range have been formulated for use in all types of enclosed gears including heavy and shock-loaded gears and bearings where EP properties are required.

The Castrol Alphasyn™ PG gear oil range of synthetic lubricants are based on polyalkyleneglycol (PAG) fluids enhanced with antioxidants, rust inhibitors and Extreme Pressure (EP) additives of high thermal stability. Alphasyn™ PG gear oils are primarily intended for use in worm reduction gear boxes, where the low coefficient of friction of the PAG base fluid improves efficiency and consequently reduces power consumption and operating temperatures. This is particularly important in applications where sliding contact is high. The use of a PAG base stock provides inherently high Viscosity Index (VI) and low pour points making these products suitable for use over a wide temperature range. Alphasyn PG meets the requirements of most OEM’s that allow the use of PAG based gear oils

Alphasyn T Range

The Castrol Alphasyn™ T gear oil range of synthetic lubricants is based on polyalphaolefin (PAO) fluids and sulphur/ phosphorus anti-wear additive technology providing outstanding thermal stability and good load carrying capacity. The Alphasyn T range has been formulated for use in most types of light to medium duty enclosed gear systems but should not be used for heavy or shock loaded systems. Alphasyn T is also suitable for bearings and circulatory systems operating at high temperatures. Alphasyn T is suitable for various applications where a lubricating oil is used under high temperatures, e.g. from hydraulic systems through to large, slow-moving gears. All products in the Alphasyn T range have very low pour points and excellent viscosity and temperature characteristics, allowing their use in both low and high temperature applications. The Alphasyn T range is fully compatible with nitrile, silicone and fluoropolymer seal materials.

Hyspin™ AWH-M contains a shear stable additive system which helps maintain the viscosity characteristics of the product over a wide temperature range, even during prolonged use. It exhibits very good corrosion and wear protection as well as good thermal and oxidative stability. In addition, Hyspin™ AWH-M is stable in the presence of water and separates water contamination rapidly upon standing.

Hyspin HLP-AF Range

The Castrol Hyspin™ HLP-AF range is based upon mineral oil enhanced with an ashless (zinc free) additive system. Castrol Hyspin HLP-AF is primarily for use in hydraulic equipment but is suitable for other duties in which lubricants with good oxidation stability and lubrication performance are required. The quality of its base oils and additives permits the application of Hyspin HLP-AF in lightly loaded gears and for use as circulating oil in applications where a rust and oxidation inhibited oil is required. The range is fully compatible with elastomer materials commonly used for static and dynamic seals, such as nitrile, silicone and fluorinated (e.g. Viton) polymers.

Magna SW Range

Castrol Magna™ SW Range are specially formulated slideway lubricants to provide all-round performance with good stick-slip and load carrying performance. They combine controlled frictional characteristics with high film- strength and high load carrying properties to eliminate ‘stick-slip’. Magna SW 32 is a light viscosity, combined hydraulic and slideway lubricant. Applications include lightly loaded slideways such as found on small centre lathes and combined hydraulic and slideway systems such as in reciprocating grinding machines. Magna SW 68 is a medium viscosity slideway lubricant suitable for use in most machine tool lubrication systems specifying an ISO VG 68 oil. It meets Cincinnati Milacron P47 specification. Magna SW 220 is formulated for use with heavily loaded slideway applications or where there is a vertical or inclined slideway. It meets Cincinnati Milacron P50 specification.
Advantages:
– Good lubricity – prevents stick-slip of slideways.
– High load carrying capacity – prevents wear of highly loaded slideways.
– Good demulsification and cutting fluid compatibility – can be used in the presence of water or water-based metalworking fluids.

Castrol Perfecto™ HT 5 is based on a solvent-refined, high viscosity index mineral oil specially selected for its high thermal and oxidation stability. Perfecto HT 5 is primarily intended for use in closed heat transfer systems with bulk temperatures up to 300°C. It can also be used in open systems at much lower bulk oil temperatures. Perfecto HT 5 because of its solvency and high thermal stability serves as an excellent Turbine Flushing oil.
Advantages:
– Tightly controlled specification helps minimise deposits in heat exchangers in order to maintain heat transfer efficiency.
– High operating temperature capability in closed systems with temperatures up to 3000 grade permitted.

Perfecto THZ Range

STEAM TURBINES

Castrol Perfecto™ THZ range has been developed to meet the exacting lubrication requirements of steam turbines where a mineral-based oil is required. The additive treatment ensures good corrosion and oxidation resistance, excellent demulsification properties without foaming in service. The grades in this range are recommended for the lubrication of steam turbines and are also suitable for the lubrication of water and gas turbines, crank-chambers of steam engines and air compressors. The product may furthermore be used for power turbines of generating sets based upon aero-derived gas turbines with moderate operating temperatures as well as a lubricant for circulation system.

– The ability of Castrol Perfecto THZ to give trouble-free operation for extended periods has been widely proved in service.

The Castrol Perfecto XEP range of turbine oils is formulated from severely hydro treated premium mineral base stocks together with a complex additive system to provide requisite anti wear performance and oxidative stability. The Perfecto XEP range is primarily intended for the lubrication of highly loaded industrial gas turbines, aero derivative power turbines & driven machinery and turbo machinery where the lubricant is exposed to high local temperatures during operation and the heat soaking period during run down. The Perfecto XEP range possess the requisite air release, foaming and water separation properties for steam turbines making them suitable and compliant for gas and steam turbines in single train sharing a common oil reservoir.

Rustilo DW370

Castrol Rustilo™ DW 370 is a high-quality solvent deposited corrosion preventive with good dewatering properties. The solvent, after evaporation, leaves a soft greasy protective film. Rustilo DW 370 is a medium to long term protective for use in severe conditions where a high degree of protection is required. It is ideal for protection of machine tools and components prior to long-term storage or transportation. The product also shows good water displacing properties. Although Rustilo DW 370 can be applied by brushing or spraying, its dewatering action is most effective if the articles to be protected can be immersed in a dip tank.

Techniclean MTC 43

Castrol Techniclean™ MTC 43 is a liquid, mildly alkaline, medium to heavy duty machine tool and system cleaner, based upon powerful low foaming surfactants, emulsifiers and anti-microbiological agents. Techniclean MTC 43 has been specifically formulated to deal with a wide variety of machine tool and system
contaminants including fatty build-up in pipelines and floor ducts. Techniclean MTC 43 is easy to use with minimum disruption to production, being added directly to the coolant system whilst still in operation. Floating tramp oil is emulsified.
